Without an opening, the game goes straight into confrontation. The known rules are extended by a few additional rules. At the beginning, each player has his king and four pawns. The cards with the remaining chess pieces form a pile, from which the player takes three into his hand. The player whose turn it is first moves an available piece according to the classic rules, then he may place one of the cards in his hand on a card that is already on the table. The rule is: pawns are placed next to pawns, all other pieces directly behind a pawn. The goal remains the same - checkmate the opponent's king. Schachen is suitable for casual players for whom the playing time in chess seems too long, and chess players who are looking for a casual change after a few real games of chess and still don't want to do without the familiar depth.
