Nine Men’s Morris is a classic strategy board game for two players, dating back to the Roman Empire. The game is played on a grid with three nested squares connected by lines. Each player has nine pieces (also called “men”), and the goal is to form “mills” — rows of three pieces — by placing and moving pieces along the board’s lines.
When a player forms a mill, they can remove one of their opponent’s pieces from the board. The game has two phases: first, players take turns placing their pieces on empty spots, and once all pieces are placed, they move them to adjacent spots to form mills. The objective is to reduce the opponent to two pieces or block all their moves.
Nine Men’s Morris is known for its simple rules yet deep strategy, making it popular throughout history and across cultures.
