Product description

In the five centuries since the Wound was closed, the kingdoms of Kalar have struggled to rebuild their shattered societies. Light wargame with lots of choices

This game offers an interesting and quite unique (for a wargame) mix of light rules with lots of decisions. The rulebook is long but in the end there are not a lot of rules, even when playing with the advanced versions (adding heroes, monsters and spells, giving it the fantasy feel it's aiming for).

This plays at a strategical level, building armies, managing income and resolving fights without taking any tactical decisions. Movement is not as important or constrained as in tactical games but it allows for some surprising decisions that make the game always feel alive. You won't be stuck in a front, there's always the possibilty of having enemy units rushing behind you to take cities and these possiblities are what make the decision space endless (should I rush ? Hold my positions etc. ?)

There's a lot of dice rolling but it's quite easy to see who has the most chance of winning a given fight. Luck factor is here, but the best units wins more often than not. The biggest luck factor probalby comes from the spells, depending on what players draw it can really affect the outcome of the turn.

An interesting take on a genre that is not that well represented (big scale fantasy wargame) and that can accomodate wargamers but also hobby boardgamers looking to try a wagame without wanting to jump into something too complex.

Wargame and medieval fantasy united for good!

This game is an awesome, not original but still unique proposal: a wargame with plenty scenarios for different player count plus a campaign, where medieval fantasy armies fight in a beautiful map. Very well produced, highly recommended.
