High in the mist-shrouded mountains of Japan lies the shrine of Onitama, a place of enlightenment and meditation. Here, masters of the martial arts gather regularly with their gifted students to prove their superiority in combat. With the Onitama Big Box, two players step into the roles of these masters and attempt to defeat the opposing students, including the master. For this purpose, five of 16 movement cards are in play in each game, allowing for different maneuvers. A used movement card then moves to the opponent, requiring vigilance and careful advance planning. In addition to the base game, the Onitama Big Box includes three expansions: The Light and Shadow expansion introduces a ninja as a new game piece. He hides in secret and remains concealed from the opponent's view. The Way of the Wind also brings a new game piece into the game, which enables new tactics thanks to eight special wind cards. Sensei's Path contains 16 new cards. The Onitama Big Box also includes 14 promo cards, which are being released in German for the first time. With its extraordinary game components and elaborate packaging, the Onitama Big Box is a visual highlight. The rules also allow for an easy introduction and, with atmospheric texts and drawings, ensure the perfect martial arts feeling, which is underscored by the exciting tactical combat.
