In Anno Domini, exact knowledge is not required. After all, who really knows whether "beards were banned in the Maldives" before or after "coal was discovered in Antarctica"? Players take turns adding a new event to the chain of mostly curious occurrences, attempting to be the first to get rid of all their cards. If a player doubts that the event cards are in the correct chronological order, the moment of truth arrives: the cards are turned over and the sequence is checked against the dates provided. If anything is incorrect, the player who went just before receives penalty cards. However, if everything is correct, the doubter must draw penalty cards.
