Adventures in a Box is an exciting new game series that allows players to explore different fantasy worlds with easy-to-learn rules. Adventure in a Box: Darkwatch, the first game in the series, is set in the The Dark Eye universe. In this game, a game master (GM) guides the players through a mix of narrative sections and combat scenes. In the narrative rounds, the players make decisions that shape the course of the story and influence future events. The combat rounds are played on a game board where players face opponents represented by tokens and work together to achieve specific goals – similar to classic dungeon crawlers. The entire game spans four sessions of 2–4 hours each, totaling about 10 to 20 hours of gameplay. The game is won after the successful completion of the final battle – it can be lost at any time if all players are defeated.
