Since Sauron came to Dol Guldur, the surrounding Greenwood became a place of fear and darkness. Corrupted by the influence of the Necromancer, it became known by its new name, Mirkwood. However, the shadow that had fallen over the forest had not gone unnoticed by the Wise. To keep his return to Middle-earth a secret, Sauron fled to the east, and his influence on the forest faded in the years that followed as Dol Guldur fell into ruin.

This scenery set contains a selection of plastic ruin sections that depict the crumbling fortress of Dol Guldur – the Hill of Sorcery – in the southern reaches of Mirkwood.

This kit includes a statue, a staircase, a metal gate, a dead tree, and vines, as well as skulls and bony remains. The Ruins of Dol Guldur are fully modular, so they can be built in various ways, allowing you to create your own unique piece of terrain. If you want even more variety or wish to build a larger piece of scenery, you can combine multiple Ruins of Dol Guldur sets.

This scenery piece consists of 136 components. This terrain is unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints.
