The sun is expanding and, in just a few years, will scorch all life on Earth. But there is hope: a planet rich in plant life, food and oxygen lies just a few light-years away, and space travel has finally advanced enough for humanity to relocate there. But there is little time to evacuate Earth and build a thriving new civilization. The best settlement sites and richest deposits of raw materials on this new world must be discovered. A game of Evacuation begins with a fully functioning economy in the Old World, which, like the population, must be evacuated from there to the New World over the course of the game. But the more production facilities are evacuated, the lower the income in the Old World becomes. Since resources from the two worlds cannot be mixed, players must plan ahead carefully to make sure they have enough resources for their next actions. After receiving their income and feeding their population, players take turns performing actions. The action itself matters, but so do the power points it generates, as these provide progress at the end of the round. The first player to raise production of all resources in the New World to level 8 or higher and build at least three stages on the new planet wins. A points-based mode and various variants and modules add further challenges and variety to the game.
